ZPPA REMINDS PROCURING ENTITIES TO FOLLOW MARKET PRICE INDEX

The Zambia Public Procurement Authority, ZPPA, has reminded all controlling officers, Chief Executive Officers and procuring entities to always follow the Market Price Index MPI, during the procurement process.

The MPI is a metric that represents price positions relative to competitors across key categories and brands, suppliers of goods, works and services.

Speaking when he featured on Christian voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “EGP system” in Lusaka today, ZPPA Director Research and Capacity Development Terry Gunduza said that failure to follow the MPI when procuring will not be condoned.

“The establishment of the MPI is to address issues of over pricing in the procurement system,” said Mr. Gunduza.

And Mr. Gunduza has further reminded all procuring entities to use the electronic government procurement e-GP system when submitting bidding documents for tenders.
