ZANAMACA WANTS JOINT EFFORTS AGAINST FLOODS AND CHOLERA

Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association (ZANAMACA) has engaged local government authorities to ensure proper infrastructure that will improve the drainage systems in markets and bus stations.

ZANAMACA President, Mupila Kameya, says it is important that everyone works proactively to ensure markets and bus stations are in high standards to avoid floods and the outbreak of water born diseases.

“The organisation is working with local government authorities and stakeholders to ensure trading places are kept clean, garbage is collected on time and drainage unblocking is taken seriously” said Mr. Kameya in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka.

He said sensitizations are on going in markets, bus stations and social health facilities, advising traders to prioritize hygiene in their trading spaces.

Mr. Kameya has also advised marketeers to maintain hygiene standards at household, community, and national level.
