YES, SOCIALIST PARTY HAS REQUESTED TO JOIN TONSE

The Tonse Alliance has acknowledged receipt of a request from the Socialist Party (SP) to join the alliance ahead of next year’s general elections.

Tonse Alliance Spokesperson, Sean Tembo, says the alliance has since begun deliberations on the application, adding that discussions are underway with the SP leadership to agree on specific terms and conditions for their inclusion

“The nation shall be informed accordingly once these negotiations are concluded, and a date will be communicated for the official welcoming of the Socialist Party into the Tonse Alliance,” said Mr. Tembo.

He expressed gratitude to Socialist Party President Fred M’membe for what he described as patriotism and humility in seeking to join forces for a common goal.

He further appealed to other political parties to consider joining the alliance, stressing that the Tonse Alliance remains the most viable platform to unseat the current regime and usher in a diverse and competent government.
