The United Kwacha Alliance UKA says it has reached an advanced stage in announcing its 2026 presidential candidate and subsequent running mate.
UKA Chairperson, Sakwiba Sikota, says despite pressure from UKA members and Zambians to quickly announce the presidential candidate , the alliance is in deep consultations with all members to ensure they choose a suitable flag bearer and presidential candidate.
Mr. Sikota says the nation will be informed of who will lead UKA in 2026 after thorough process within the alliance.
“The Alliance is aware that former president, Edgar Lungu has been endorsed by two alliances as presidential candidate for 2026, but UKA is clear those who seek to belong to a multiplicity of alliance groups are encouraged to disengage from UKA and join any alliance of their choice,” said Mr. Sikota.
He has therefore reminded UKA members to remain united saying that a house divided against itself can not stand, according to Mathew 11:25.
