Mwansabombwe Town Council Acting Council Secretary Matthews Mulenga says the Local Authority has restored water supply at Kapale Secondary School and Mbereshi Mission Hospital after replacing the dysfunctional water pumps and pipes.
Kapale Secondary School and Mbereshi Mission Hospital had no running water for two weeks.
Mr. Mulenga said the procurement and installation of water pumps, pipes and other materials at the two institutions which cost K82, 000 was implemented using funds from the 2023 Constituency Development Fund- (CDF) Disaster component.
He is optimistic that the water pumps will provide sustainable water supply to the learners and staff at Kapale Secondary School, ensuring that they have access to clean water for drinking, sanitation, and other essential needs.
And Mr. Mulenga said the water pumps at Mbereshi Mission Hospital will help to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients by ensuring a reliable water supply for medical procedures, hygiene practices, and other hospital operations.
Mr Mulenga has reiterated the Local Authority’s commitment to improving the water infrastructure in the District especially in public institutions as this resource is a fundamental human right.
