Zambia NGO WASH Forum National Coordinator, Bubala Mumba, has called for greater collaborations within the sector in the wake of the drought affecting the nation and vulnerable communities.
Ms. Mumba says the true strength of collaboration and cooperation shines brightest in times of adversity.
She said this in a speech delivered for her by the Forum’s Head of Administration and Finance Zama Lungu Banda during a WASH Sector quarterly meeting in Lusaka.
Ms. Mumba noted that while their collective efforts in the WASH sector have always been critical, the current circumstances demand an even more unified approach.
She urged leveraging their combined expertise, resources, and passion to ensure that access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene remains a fundamental right for every Zambian, regardless of their circumstances.
Ms. Mumba said the meeting was not just an opportunity to share updates and discuss progress, but a platform for forging stronger bonds, fostering innovative solutions, and amplifying their collective voice.
She stressed the importance of holding the government accountable for fulfilling its commitments to WASH, advocating for policies that prioritize the needs of the people, and ensuring that resources are allocated equitably and transparently.
