THE OPPOSITION URGED TO KEEP GOVERNMENT IN CHECK

Governance Expert and Human Rights Advocate Wesley Miyanda has advised the opposition to consider other ways of providing checks and balances,  as opposed to depending on public rallies.

Mr. Miyanda was responding to critics from the opposition that President Hakainde Hichilema is hosting public rallies while the police are denying the opposition an equal opportunity.

He says this is the time the opposition should engage in public discussions , radio and TV programs to offer alternatives to the challenges Zambians are facing.

“The opposition should focus on bringing real issues on the table such as economic solutions “, said Mr. Miyanda in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

And Mr. Miyanda has urged government to allow the opposition critic them without any intimidation.
