Technology Expert, Kingston Mwila has called for both private and public sectors’ collaboration to ensure there is available high speed and stable internet for effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Mr. Mwila says slow internet is a hindrance to the effectiveness of AI resulting in system failure or delay in producing quick results.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Mwila said that the current internet speed and inefficiencies are not enough to ensure the smooth implementation of AI in the country.
“There is also need to review if the regulatory framework on technicalities is suitable as government tries to implement the technical standards and guidelines for AI development,” said Mr. Mwila.
He further said there is need to ensure that the supporting factors including stable energy and infrastructure are put in place to accommodate the servers.
Mr. Mwila reiterated that the strategy that has been implemented in Zambia must be studied, reviewed and evaluated and see where AI must be applied.
