United Party for National Development UPND Consultant Mark Simuuwe has refuted reports from opposition political leaders, that UPND Secretary General Batuke Imenda is at loggerheads with the catholic church.
Mr. Simuuwe says the reports being peddled by the opposition are false, saying that they want to damage the cordial relations between the Church and the ruling party.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Simuuwe said that the church is a close ally and partner for government in national development.
“The UPND will continue to engage the church on issues affecting Zambians through dialogue,” said Mr. Simuuwe.
He has however encouraged Zambians to desist from entertaining messages from the opposition that are divisive in nature.
