POLICE REFUTES ALLEGATIONS REGARDING RECRUITMENT OF A MINOR

The Zambia Police Service has refuted recent allegations circulating on social media platforms, claiming that the Service recruited and employed a minor.

The Service says the newly graduated female officer, Pascalina Mumbi, whose photo is trending online, is over 20 years old.

Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi, has told RCV News in a statement that the Officer fully meets all the recruitment requirements, including the age criterion, which stipulates that applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

“These allegations are completely unfounded,” said Mr. Chilabi.

Mr. Chilabi, all necessary personal records and documentation were thoroughly verified to ensure compliance with the recruitment standards and protocols.

He has reiterated that the allegations are baseless and are intended to tarnish the reputation of the institution and called on the public to avoid spreading unverified claims.
