NAQEZ SUPPORTS RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS FROM 2023 DATA

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has welcomed the announcement by the Ministry of Education, that government will rely on the old data base for recruiting new teachers in 2024.

NAQEZ Executive Director, Aaron Chansa, says apart from removing the cost on candidates who have been applying for many years, the decision will also give more chances to those whose attempts to join the civil service have not been  succeeding.

Dr. Chansa has however warned stakeholders in the recruitment exercise to be transparent and accountable to the candidates in the process.

“The new system however if not well managed has the potential to attract telling mistrusts, suspicious and serious finger pointing between and among stakeholders, and this would erode confidence in the process,” said Dr. Chansa in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He has therefore urged government to oversee the process and ensure the right candidates are picked.
