The Medicines Research and Access Platform (MedRAP) has dismissed concerns raised by some stakeholders in the health sector, regarding the safety of the Cholera vaccine for Zambians.
Some health experts and stakeholders have expressed reservations, questioning whether the vaccine is an effective measure to protect citizens against cholera.
But speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, MedRaP Executive Director Liyoka Liyoka, emphasized that the benefits of the cholera vaccine outweigh any potential side effects.
“Vaccination against cholera is a reliable way for health authorities to ensure that the epidemic does not spread,” said Mr. Liyoka.
He further urged Zambians to focus on the advantages of vaccines rather than dwelling on perceived negatives, highlighting the critical role of immunization in combating preventable diseases.
