LUSAKA YANGO DRIVER ROBBED AND KILLED

 A 42 year old Yango Driver of Lusaka has died after being attacked by robbers in Makeni at Patel area, after he was booked from Kalingalinga Compound, in an incident that happened on September 29th.

Police Public Relations Officer, Rea Hamoonga says Suzyo Mwale succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Monday at UTH where he had been taken for emergency surgery to remove knives left in his neck by the attackers.

“During the robbery, the assailants stabbed Mr. Mwale on the left side of his neck, inflicting deep wounds,” Mr. Hamoonga said in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

Mr. Hamoonga said the knife used in the attack was left lodged in his body and that the criminals proceeded to steal his cell phones and wallet, which contained an undisclosed sum of money.

He said the Zambia Police Service strongly condemns this heinous act and is actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects involved.

Mr. Mwale urged any members of the public who may have witnessed this incident or have any information that could assist in the investigation to come forward and report to Makeni Police station or any nearest police station.
