The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has engaged a contractor to work on a new drainage system along Kayombo and Mboyo roads, extending to Kulima Tower and Lumumba Road, to avert flooding at Kulima Tower Bus Station.
LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager, Nyambe Bulumba, says the project is part of a K21 million project funded by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
“This project, which is being executed in phases, will also address drainage issues at Big Mama Market, and Lumumba Road,” said Mr Bulumba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said this will protect homes, businesses, and public infrastructure from damage and prevent waterborne diseases.
