The Lusaka City Council LCC, has allocated K700,000 for the installation of street lighting along Freedom Way in the Central Business District CBD.
LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager Nyambe Bulumba says the investment has been made possible through the 2023 Constituency Development Fund under Lusaka Central Constituency.
Mr. Bulumba said that the project, slated to commence this year, is currently at tender stage, allowing for a transparent and competitive process among contractors.
“The process is key in ensuring that the Local Authority selects a competent and reliable contractor to execute the project efficiently”, said Mr. Bulumba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said once fully installed, the street lights will not only beautify the CBD but also provide enhanced security for businesses and the general public.
