LCC TASK FORCE URGES SUSTAINABLE REVENUE COLLECTION

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) Task Force under the Finance Department, has  emphasized the need for sustainable revenue collection methods.

Speaking during a meeting in the Council Chamber to address strategies for improving revenue collection and strengthening enforcement of Council regulations today, Department Director of Finance, Francis Phiri highlighted the Council’s reliance on revenue from local businesses to support effective service delivery across Lusaka.

Mr. Phiri has commended the Task Force for its recent efforts, noting a positive increase in Lusaka’s revenue in recent months.

“In the past months, Lusaka’s revenue has improved, which is an indication that the Task Force team is performing its duties according to the expectations of Council,” said Mr. Phiri.

Meanwhile, Task Force Chairperson Mr. Moses Mulenga encouraged the team to strive towards strengthening the understanding of the payment system by the residents.

And LCC Assistant Accountant Ms. Brinah Mbilitu emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of customer service, accuracy, and accountability in all operations.
