The Lusaka City Council (LCC) says it has delivered more than 150 kilometres of road infrastructure between 2022 and 2026 under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
LCC Public Relations Manager, Chola Mwamba, says the Council has undertaken extensive grading and gravelling works to improve accessibility and connectivity across Lusaka’s communities.
Ms. Mwamba says these developments have eased movement to residential areas, public institutions and commercial centres, while supporting the efficient flow of people, goods and services.
“To complement the road works, LCC has also installed 5 kilometres of drainage infrastructure to strengthen stormwater management and protect roads from erosion”, said Ms. Mwamba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
Ms. Mwamba added that, the Council has also constructed four bridges, providing safer and more reliable transport links.
She stated that these bridges have improved access to schools, health facilities, markets and other essential services, directly benefiting local communities.
She revealed that the projects demonstrate the impact of the Constituency Development Fund in accelerating community development and improving the quality of life for Lusaka residents.
Ms. Mwamba further reaffirmed council’s commitment to using CDF resources prudently, transparently and efficiently to deliver sustainable infrastructure and improved service delivery across the city.
