ITEZHI-TEZHI LAWMAKER CONCERNED WITH RISING ABORTIONS

Itezhi-tezhi Member of Parliament, Twaambo Mutinta, has expressed concern on the rising number of unsafe abortions and school dropouts in Itezhi-tezhi District of Southern Province.

Mr. Mutinta highlighted the urgent need to address the challenges related to human development, particularly adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, and early pregnancies.

Mr. Mutinta emphasized that Itezhi-tezhi District has faced significant obstacles due to cultural norms and a lack of sensitization on Unintended Pregnancies since its establishment.

“The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization  and the Family Development Initiatives in the constituency  should be commended for advocating for the prevention of Early marriages,” said Mr. Mutinta in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
