INVESTORS CALLED TO SUPPORT EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT IN ZAMBIA

Government has called on Investors in the Education Sector to prioritize investing in infrastructure for early childhood education across the country.

Ministry of Education Assistant Director Early Childhood Education, Patrine Chilala, says government has recognized the need to improve infrastructure in Early Childhood Education to motivate young learners.

Speaking during a media briefing  on the upcoming National Dialogue on Early Childhood Development and Childcare in Lusaka today, Mrs. Chilala said that government is in urgent need of desks and learning materials for early childhood education.

“There is also need for classrooms and play areas to be designed and appeal to the young learners in government schools,” said Mrs. Chilala.

She said that government will therefore use the upcoming  National Dialogue on 31st October, 2024, to highlight the importance of foundation education and to support early childhood development by bridging the gap between policymakers and key stakeholders.
