GOVT URGED TO QUICKLY  INVEST IN NUCLEAR POWER

Opposition Leadership Movement President, Richard Silumbe, has urged government to utilize Uranium in North Western Province and construct nuclear power plants as an alternative to the current energy crisis.

Dr. Silumbe said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “National unity and development”.

He said that North Western province is endowed with enough uranium that can generate over 15,000 megawatts through the nuclear power plants.

“Nuclear power is another sustainable and clean alternative source of energy that government should invested as opposed to depending on hydro power,” said Dr. Silumbe.

And Dr. Silumbe has reminded the UPND government to deliver on its campaign promises.

He said that the current economic space is contrary to what it promised prior to the 2021 general elections.
