Independent Member of Parliament for Bwana Mkubwa Constituency, Warren Mwambazi, has urged government to invest in nuclear energy as a long term solution to the current energy crisis in Zambia.
Mr. Mwambazi said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian voices’ Chatback Program on the topic, “Constituency check”.
Mr. Mwambazi says government must not be afraid to invest in nuclear energy, saying that it is a low-carbon energy source that is reliable.
“Nuclear power plants should be the first alternative source of energy government must think of outside hydro, solar and wind,” said Mr. Mwambazi.
He said that loadshedding will never end if government continues to depend on the current energy sources in Zambia.
