GOVERNMENT SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH SIEMENS HEALTHINEERS FOR CDH

Minister Of Health Sylvia Masebo says the Zambian government has secured over 30 million US dollars for rehabilitating the Cancer Diseases Hospital (CDH) in Lusaka.

Ms. Masebo was speaking during the Signing Ceremony Between the Ministry of Health and Siemens Healthineers for the Rehabilitation and Re-Equipping of the Cancer Diseases Hospital in Lusaka.

She said the restoration of radiotherapy with the first linear accelerator is expected in 6 months from start of project and will be completed in 18months.

“After completing the project, CDH should establish itself as a regional centre of excellence for cancer detection and treatment”, said Ms. Masebo.

She said signing ceremony is an indicator that the long-awaited refurbishment and re-equipping of the Cancer Diseases Hospital will now begin.

“Today marks a very important milestone on the future of Cancer treatment in the country,” said Ms. Masebo.
