ERB TAKES ACTION AGAINST UNO FILLING STATION

The Energy Regulation Board, ERB, has directed Uno Filling Station and Atosh Transport Limited to discontinue offloading and retailing of all petroleum products at its Lusaka’s Woodlands branch, following a fire incident on Sunday, 19th May 2024.

This is after a fire broke out on Sunday, around 13:00 hours at Uno Filling Station along Lake Road in Woodlands area, while a tank vehicle belonging to Atosh Tranport Limited caught fire during offloading petrol.

ERB Public Relations Manager Namukolo Kasumpa says the directive will be in effect at the branch until the cause of the fire is established.

“Offloading will only be done in the presence of the Fire Brigade and the ERB,” said Mrs. Kasumpa in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

Mrs. Kasumpa said the Board has also directed the Licensees to submit comprehensive incident reports, detailing the cause of the accident and measures undertaken to ensure accidents of similar nature do not reoccur in-line with their standard license conditions.

She said fortunately, the fire was controlled and extinguished by quick interventions of the Lusaka Fire Brigade with no serious damage to property nor injuries to the public recorded.
