Minister of Labor and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba, has urged employers to support social protection by ensuring they are up to date with the remittance of employees benefits.
Ms. Tambatamba says the 20% Napsa withdraw initiative exposed some employers that were not remitting to NAPSA, which she says is a drawback to social protection.
Speaking when she officially launched the Pensions Awareness week 2024 in Lusaka today, Ms. Tambatamba said the remittance of employees’ benefits ensures that workers are well taken care of after retirement.
“Employers in the informal sector should also work hard and ensure their employees are covered with social protection,” said Ms. Tambatamba.
And Ms. Tambatamba stressed government’s commitment to ensuring the country has a good pension security scheme by introducing packages that respond to workers’ needs.
