EIZ MOBILIZES EXPERTS FOR ENERGY CRISIS

The Engineering Institution of Zambia EIZ has constituted a special Energy committee to look at the current energy crisis in Zambia.

The committee, composed of top-tier professionals with extensive experience in energy solutions, is poised to deliver innovative and actionable strategies on the energy crisis.

EIZ President Wesley Kaluba has therefore invited all engineering professionals and organizations nationwide, who have experience and competence in solar systems and off-grid energy solutions, to be part of the committee.

“This is part of a strategic response to help cushion the energy deficit in the country by collaborating in building an energy mix and reducing dependence on hydropower sources,” said Mr. Kaluba in a statemenet issued to RCV News by EIZ Registrar and Chief Executive Office David Kamungu.

He acknowledged the need for combined efforts and innovative solutions from the engineering community as crucial to overcoming the electricity challenge.

Mr. Kaluba said that the Institution remains committed in its pivotal role to innovate energy infrastructure that is climate-change resilient.
