DRIVERS SHOULD GO FOR RE-FRESHER COURSES – CRAZ

The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has urged bus operators to reintroduce mandatory refresher courses for all long distance bus drivers.

CRAZ President, Aaron Kamuti, says most long distance bus drivers have became familiar with driving, which he says endangers the lives of the commuters.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Kamuti has also expressed concern that some bus drivers are not operating with drivers licenses which poses another risk to commuters.

“Bus operators must ensure the drivers employed meet all the criteria to transport large number of people to various destinations,” said Mr. Kamuti.

He has also called on the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to remain vigilant and punish erring long distance bus drivers.
