Chieftainess Waitwika of the Namwanga speaking people in Nakonde District has thanked political parties taking part in the Luchinde and Mulalo Local Government by-elections, for conducting peaceful campaigns.
Chieftainess Waitwika says the campaigns in the two wards in her chiefdom are going on peaceful as political parties canvass for votes in various villages.
Speaking when Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, paid a courtesy call on her, Chieftainess Waitwika hoped that voting will also go on peacefully tomorrow.
She also thanked government for Constructing her a new palace.
“The decision by government to construct Palaces countrywide has made traditional leaders happy,” said Chieftainess Waitwika.
Meanwhile Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati, underscored government’s resolve to have peaceful elections at all levels across the country.
He has therefore encouraged participants in the ward by elections to compete on ideas that will drive the nation forward.
