AGRA CALLS FOR YOUTH SOLUTIONS TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) Zambia Country Manager, Maziko Phiri, has called for deliberate structures to create  a youth voice that speaks about solutions to the climate change.

Mr. Phiri made the call in Lusaka today, during the Southern Africa Youth in Climate Change Forum aimed at exploring innovative youth-led initiatives, collaborative strategies, and actionable insights for creating a sustainable future.

He said there is need to safeguard the future against climate change by engaging the youths now.

“The future against climate change can be resolved by engaging the youths to come  up with solutions,” said Mr. Phiri.

Speaking during the same forum, National Food and Nutrition Commission  (NFNC) Deputy Executive Director, Mathews Mhuru, said Zambia is struggling to find ways to engage the youths on finding solutions to food security.

Mr. Mhuru said the forum is a privilege for the youths to get engaged in finding solutions to the country’s drought situation.

He said engaging youths in sustainable food production will bring in new ideas that countries in Africa have been yearning.
