The Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS), in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, has launched the Timange Housing Loan Product, an initiative aimed at empowering Zambians with access to affordable housing.
The initiative seeks to provide financial assistance through mortgage loans, enabling individuals to acquire decent and affordable homes.
Speaking during the launch in Lusaka today, ZNBS Managing Director, Mildred Mulesa, emphasized that despite housing being a fundamental human need and a key driver of social and economic development, many low-income earners, both in the formal and informal sectors, face significant challenges in securing housing financing due to high costs, stringent requirements, and the lack of tailored financial products.
Meanwhile, Habitat for Humanity’s Africa Area Vice President, Rudo Kayombo, echoed these sentiments, stating that homeownership is a cornerstone of stability, dignity, and a brighter future for families across Zambia.
