ZAMBIA AND FRANCE SIGN AGREEMENT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that Zambia and France have signed a landmark agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation in key sectors.

The agreement outlines cooperation in key areas, including health, agriculture, energy, sports, youth, and culture.

The Declaration of Intent was signed by Zambia’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Sylvia Masebo, who is also Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and France’s Minister Delegate for Francophonie and International Partnerships, Thani Soilih.

Ms. Masebo described the agreement as a significant milestone in the longstanding partnership between the two nations, founded on democracy, the rule of law, and regional commitments.

“In the health sector, Zambia and France will collaborate on research into infectious diseases and boost local production of medicines and healthcare products,” said Ms. Masebo in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Principal Public Relations Officer, Eva Chanda.

She added that in the agriculture sector, the two countries will implement sustainable projects aimed at fostering economic growth, reducing poverty, and enhancing food security, particularly in response to recurrent droughts.

Furthermore, the agreement prioritizes cooperation in sports, youth, and culture, aiming to strengthen cultural ties, foster professional sports networks, and support creative industries.
