ZP TO INTENSIFY PATROLS IN KANYAMA AMID BLACKOUTS

The Zambia Police Service says it will intensify patrols in Kanyama Constituency following electricity disconnections by ZESCO, aimed at mitigating potential crime.

ZESCO Limited cut power supply to Kanyama and Makeni yesterday after heavy rains on Saturday led to flooding, posing a risk of electrocution.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Zambia Police spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, urged residents to remain vigilant, warning that crime could rise in the absence of electricity.

“It is challenging to fight crime when there is no power and the community is urged to work closely with the police to enhance security,” said Mr. Hamoonga.
