Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Bernard Mpundu, has cautioned health workers against engaging in the illegal practice of stealing drugs.
Speaking at the official opening of the Provincial Integrated Review meeting in Mbala district, Mr. Mpundu emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in the health sector.
“Government will not allow pilferage in health facilities to continue because it affects the swift delivery of medical supplies to the people,” said Mr. Mpundu in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today, by Northern Province Principal Public Relations Officer Sandra Mulenga.
He said that any health worker found in the selling of drugs meant for public health centers will face strict punishment.
