The Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) has appealed to business entities in the informal sector to formalize their operations by registering with the agency.
PACRA Deputy Registrar – Commercial, Belinda Siankumo, expressed concern that many traders and businesses in the informal sector remain unregistered.
Mrs. Siankumo said this in Lusaka today when she featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “Mandate of PACRA”.
“Small and Medium Enterprises such as retailers, money lenders, mobile money agents, and tailors are required to register their businesses,” said Mrs. Siankumo.
She further warned that PACRA will not hesitate to take action, including closing down businesses that fail to comply with registration requirements.
