ZACA URGES ZESCO TO FOLLOW POWER SUPPLY SCHEDULES

The Zambia Consumer Association (ZACA) has called on ZESCO Limited to maintain consistency in power supply and strictly adhere to scheduled load-shedding timetables to minimize disruptions for consumers.

ZACA President, Juba Sakala, expressed concern over the utility company’s failure to follow its own timetables, particularly in Lusaka, a situation he says is negatively affecting business planning and operations.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Sakala noted that the erratic power supply has led to business closures and job losses, further worsening financial hardships for households and families.

“The lack of reliable electricity has forced many businesses to shut down due to financial losses, leaving many Zambians unemployed,” said Mr. Sakala.

He urged ZESCO to ensure strict implementation of the newly announced power schedule, restoring public confidence in the utility company and providing consumers with greater certainty in their daily operations.
