UPND REFUTES ALLEGATIONS ON PROPAGANDA

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has refuted allegations by the Tonse Alliance, claiming that government is using propaganda on the opposition.

Last week, The Tonse alliance said that president Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND administration have invested heavily in propaganda, by engaging huge numbers of unemployed youths as online warriors  to  influence  online conversations.

But Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, UPND Deputy Media Director, Cheelo Katambo said that government does not condone propaganda, saying that government agencies are focused on delivering services to the Zambians people.

“Propaganda is not only detrimental to national development but it may also discourage investors from investing in the country,” said Mr. Katambo.

He has therefore urged the opposition to be factual and ensure they offer credible checks and balances, as opposed to mere politicking.
