Agricultural Expert, Oliver Bulaya, has stressed the need for government to support agro-processing companies in Zambia.
Mr. Bulaya said despite the presence of local agro-processing companies, the country has not done enough to create demand for their services.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka , Mr. Bulaya said that it is essential to create demand for agro processing companies to provide market linkages for various crops.“There is need for government to provide support to agro-processing companies through initiatives that reduce costs associated with machinery and production,” said Mr. Bulaya.
Mr. Bulaya encouraged farmers to adopt climate-smart agriculture practices, which would help them integrate into the agricultural sector.
