The United Party for National Development (UPND) has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the high cost of living, making it a priority focus for government in 2025.
Party Deputy Media Director, Cheelo Katambo, acknowledged the financial strain faced by many Zambians.
Mr. Katambo said this in Lusaka today when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic “National Matters”.
Mr. Katambo emphasized that government is fully aware of the economic challenges confronting citizens, particularly in light of the drought experienced last year, which exacerbated the situation.
“The cost of living is currently beyond what most Zambians can afford but with the anticipated good rains this year and government’s economic policies, 2025 will be a better year,” said Mr. Katambo.
He assured Zambians that measures are being put in place to stabilize the economy and alleviate the burden on households.
Mr. Katambo expressed optimism that improved agricultural yields and strategic interventions in key sectors would contribute to a more prosperous future for the country.
