CLERGY URGES ZAMBIANS TO SEEK COUNSELLING AMIDST HARDSHIPS

The Bible Gospel Church in Africa BIGOCA has Urged Zambians going through hardships to seek counselling and not opt for suicide.

The country has seen a rise in suicide cases with the recent one being of a young man from the University of Zambia (UNZA), who committed suicide after allegedly losing money from betting.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, BIGOCA Deputy Secretary General, Lazarus Shumba, said that in many circumstances, people tend not to open up in fear of being judged which leads suicide.

“Suicide is not a lasting solution and sin in the site of God’’, said Bishop Shumba.

The Bishop encouraged Zambians to turn to trusted spaces, such as the church, for guidance and counselling during hardships.
