Award-winning author and journalist Nelson Longesha has urged the government to prioritize responsive planning over reactive approaches to unlock the full potential of community empowerment in Zambia.
Mr. Longesha emphasized the need for responsive leadership in addressing the anticipated needs of the country.
He was speaking when he featured on RCV’s Community Forum programme in Lusaka over the weekend.
“Leaders must commit to responsive planning to strengthen systems that empower communities to manage resources effectively and foster quality leadership for all,” said Mr. Longesha.
Mr. Longesha argued that this proactive approach would not only address the immediate concerns of citizens but also lay the groundwork for sustainable development and long-term growth.
He called for policymakers to engage directly with communities to co-create adaptable plans that can respond to evolving circumstances, particularly in vulnerable areas
