The United Party for National Development (UPND) says its consistent victories in by-elections since 2021, is testament to the Zambian people’s trust in the ruling party.
UPND Deputy Media Director, Cheelo Katambo, says the by election victories also reflects the party’s growing strength and its ability to connect with the electorate.
Mr. Katambo was reacting to some opposition political leaders who claim the UPND is not popular among the Zambian people, despite dominating in recent by elections.
“The UPND has managed to win by-elections in areas previously considered opposition strongholds and this is a clear demonstration of the confidence Zambians have in the UPND leadership,” said Mr. Katambo.
He further noted that the party views their success in the by elections as an opportunity to serve the people effectively, and to strengthen its grassroot support and deliver on its promises.
