GOV’T COMMENDS RCV FOR HISTORICAL AWARDS

Government has hailed Radio Christian Voice (RCV) for successfully hosting Zambia’s inaugural gospel music awards, a groundbreaking event that celebrated the nation’s thriving gospel music industry.

Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts Permanent Secretary, Fumba Chama, commended RCV for spearheading an impactful initiative in the entertainment industry.

Mr. Fumba highlighted the critical role faith plays in creative expression, noting the awards’ alignment with Zambia’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

“These artists not only create beauty but also inspire to reflect on the nations values and purpose,” said Mr. Chama during the awards event last Saturday.

And Speaking at the same event, RCV founder and Chairman of Christian Vision, Robert Edmiston, encouraged Zambian artists to tap into the digital space to reach new audiences and reach a global audience with the message of Christ.

He said the opportunity to gain a global audience is there because of the digital world, adding that RCV is increasingly going into digital and so should Zambian artists.

Among the winners  was Pompi that won Album of the Year, Artist of the Year – Male, Music Video of the Year, Music Packaging of the Year, Songwriter of the Year – Artist and Music Packaging of the Year.

Others that won include Pastor Washy that won Song of the Year, Christine that won Artist of the Year – Female and Magg 44 that won Hip Hop song of the year among other winners.
