Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has urged members of the public, who claim to have been harassed by alleged UPND party cadres in public places such Markets and Bus stations, to report the lawlessness to the law enforcers.
UPND Deputy Media Director, Cheelo Katambo, said this in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, following reports that political party cadres have resurfaced in Bus stations in Lusaka, and are demanding cash from drivers per passenger loaded.
“Anyone who commits such behavior in the name of the party will not be shielded,” warned Mr. Katambo.
He reiterated that UPND, as a party, have made their position clear regarding political party cadres in public places.
Mr. Katambo also said the party takes internal disciplinary action on any of their members involved in such events.
