The Annual rate of inflation for October 2024 has increased to 15.7% from 15.6% recorded in September, 2024.
This means that on average, prices of goods and services increased by 15.7% between October 2023 and October 2024.
Zambia Statistics Agency Acting Statistician General, Sheila Mudenda, has attributed the increase to the price movement in food items.
“The Annual food inflation for October 2024 was recorded at 18.2% compared to 17.9% in October 2023,” said Mrs. Mudenda in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She said that the country saw an increase in food items such as Bread, Mealie Meal, Rice, Fritters, Meat products, fish and dried Kapenta among others.
