Opposition United for Better Zambia (UBZ) Party has officially submitted a letter, requesting former President, Edgar Lungu, to stand on the party ticket during the 2026 general elections.
The letter was submitted this morning, to Patriotic Front (PF) faction Secretary General, Raphael Nakachinda, at the PF secretariate in Lusaka.
According to the letter submitted by UBZ Secretary General, Josia Malesa, the party has invited and adopted Mr. Lungu to be the UBZ 2026 Presidential candidate.
He said UBZ will join forces with the PF faction that Mr. Lungu leads.
Mr. Malesa said UBZ has observed that Mr. Miles Sampa is not willing to let go of the PF faction that he heads, which may inconvenience Mr. Lungu in 2026.
