LUKANGA WATER ANNOUNCES WATER CHALLENGES FOR KAPIRI

Lukanga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LgWSC) has acknowledged the water stress that is being experienced in Kapiri Mposhi, resulting in a loss of about 1200 cubic meters of water which contributes about 35% of water available for distribution in the district.

This is due to a transmission line failure which transports water from Kapiri Mposhi’s Lunchu Dam to Ndeke Water Supply Treatment Plant.

In a statement to RCV News today, the water utility company   Public Relations Manager, Siwa Mwene, said the incident occurred on Saturday, 19th October 2024 and that repair works have since commenced.

“The Company is working round the clock to ensure that works are completed, and normal water supply is restored by the end of today, 23rd October 2024,” said Ms. Mwene.

Ms. Mwene said the Company is also rationing water supply to all areas from 07: 00 hours to 10:00 hours and evening 19:00 hours to 22:00 hours to cushion the water challenges caused by the transmission line failure.

She said a water bowser has been dispatched to distribute water to specially stressed areas such as Matilyo compound.
