President Hakainde Hichilema says mealie-meal traders found selling the Zambia National Service (ZNS) Mealie-Meal, at a price higher than K230 will be arrested.
The President says this is because the ZNS mealie-meal initiative is aimed to help people in the wake of the drought situation.
President Hichilema was speaking yesterday when he graced the 2024 Samu Lya Moomba Traditional Ceremony in Monze District of Southern Province.
Meanwhile, President Hichilema has advised farmers to not abandon maize production due the bad weather experienced in the past farming season.
President Hichilema said producing food is part of Zambia’s independence fight.
He also encouraged traditional leaders to lead by example and produce food by taking advantage of the fertilizer being given to them.
The President advised against laziness and called for hard work among the people.
