501 individuals have so far been arrested in Lusaka, in a Police operation which started on 19th September 2024, aimed at riding communities of criminal elements that have been attacking citizens.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rea Hamoonga, says today, September 24, 2024, the operation was extended to more areas, including Kafue Road, Panganani Road, Kabwe Roundabout, and other locations where the alleged criminals are known to operate.
“We have intensified our efforts by deploying police horses and sniffer dogs to effectively track down these individuals, even in areas where they attempt to hide, such as drainages,” said Mr. Hamoonga in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
Mr. Hamoonga urged all law-abiding citizens to continue with their normal activities, saying this operation is specifically targeted at those individuals who pose a threat to the safety and security.
He appealed to the public to support this ongoing operation and to cooperate with law enforcement officers in ensuring that the communities remain safe.
