GOVT TO HOST NATIONAL JOBS SUMMIT IN NOVEMBER

Minister  of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba, says her ministry will host  a National jobs fair and productivity summit in November this year.

Ms. Tambatamba says the summit will connect employers to potential employees by showcasing available jobs, internships and training programmes to job seekers.

Speaking  when she officiated at a special tripartite consultative labour council meeting in Lusaka today, Ms. Tambatamba said the summit will offer career guidance to help the youth make informed career decisions.

“The summit will also bridge the gap between supply and the demand for jobs, address skills mismatches, and strategies on how to raise the country’s level of productivity,” said Ms. Tambatamba.

She has therefore called on social partners to ensure the summit is a success.
