GOV’T WASHES OFF HANDS ON BAD ECONOMY

Government has washed off it’s hands over the current economic hardships saying it is not the current leadership’s fault that several sectors of the economy are failing.

Speaking during the Vice President Question Time in the National Assembly this morning, Vice President Mutale Nalumango, said the economic situation would have been worse if another government was in place.

Mrs. Nalumango was responding to Mufulira Member of Parliament, Golden Mwila, who wanted to know where government is, to salvage the economic situation that Zambians are battling with.

“You want to be government in waiting, you want to convince people that you can do better when you failed when things were ok, failure starts with you,” said Mrs. Nalumango.

She however said government is aware of how bad the economy is and that government has been working to make the lives of Zambians better.

Mrs. Nalumango cited efforts aimed at cushioning the drought situation that have been rolled out across the country.

“Don’t go on a path of instigating  riots because that is an illegality and it will be met by the law,” warned Mrs. Nalumango
