Minister of information and Media, Conelius Mweetwa, has commended Multi-Choice Zambia for handing over two dividends worth over K10 million from DStv and K46 million from GOtv, to the national broadcaster ZNBC, in Lusaka today

Speaking when he received the cheques on behalf of ZNBC in Lusaka today, Mr. Mweetwa said the move by Multi-Choice is evidence of the Public-Private Partnership being at work and alive in ensuring economic growth in the country.

“Government will remain consistent in promoting a favorable business environment which protects investments to ensure the promotion of more business activities to stimulate economic growth in the country”, said Mr. Mweetwa.

He said government is aware of the negative implication that drought has on different sectors including the the media fraternity due to electricity deficit being experienced across the country.

Mr. Mweetwa said government will diversify investment in energy sources going forward, so that the country can sustain itself in terms of energy generation to attain energy security,  with or without rain, in accordance with President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive to turn misfortunes into opportunities.

He since urged the national broadcaster to utilize the received dividends prudently towards the services they are offering to the people.
